The Kindergarten position is a full-time position. The teacher must be able to conduct a well ordered classroom, teach the fundamentals of phonics, prepare and integrate gospel-saturated lesson plans, and answer parents concerning the importance of a classical model of education.  They must be patient as they will be working with some of our youngest students. This is often parents first experience with a classical Christian education and therefore is an important position for setting the stage of all future educational experiences.

      The teacher must be able to conduct a well ordered classroom, teach the history of the Medieval period up to the Reformation, botany, fundamentals of math and grammar, and prepare and integrate gospel-saturated lesson plans.  The teacher must use the classical pedagogy throughout to encourage the students in their mastery of fundamental concepts.

      The teacher must be able to conduct a well ordered classroom, teach the history of the Reformation up to the Industrial Revolution with an emphasis on American history, zoology, fundamentals of math and grammar, and prepare and integrate gospel-saturated lesson plans.  The teacher must use the classical pedagogy throughout to encourage the students in their mastery of fundamental concepts.

      The teacher must be able to conduct a well ordered classroom, teach the fundamentals and history of Latin, and prepare and integrate gospel-saturated lesson plans.  Latin teachers must have a true grammar focus with reading and translation as the goal of instruction.   The teacher must use the classical pedagogy in the classroom to point students to great examples of Latin language and Roman history.  The teacher must be familiar with Wheelock's Latin and can teach a variety of ages.

       The 5/6 classroom teacher must be able to instruct across grade levels.  The 5/6 emphasis at Mirus Academy is upon Greek and Roman history.  They must have a good working knowledge of that time frame and emphasize good study skills for the students as they prepare to enter the Dialectic stage.  The teacher will conduct capstone Grammar level projects for the class, including memorizing a book of the Bible.
